Cúl camp for future champions took place last week in Mungret St. Pauls with just under 350 children attending, just under half of these were girls this made us one of the biggest camps in Limerick. We were delighted to have 4 of our players Rory Duff, Patrick Dwane, Conor and James Garvey coaching this week and would like to thank all the coaches who are kept busy with all our young players. The weather brought the rain on the last day shortly before the children had to leave. One of our special visitors was the Liam McCarthy accompanied by Aaron Gillane and Barry O’Connell. We would like to Thank the 2 Limerick Hurlers for visiting us and staying for a photo shoot with our players, we really appreciated it. Thank you to all our helpers for the week who helped keep an eye on all the children. There is still lost and found clothes, there are also some helmets and hurleys missing. We would like to ask you to check everything your children brought home to make sure it belongs to them.
We would like to extend our congratulations to our President, Pa O’Brien on his recognition by the Mayor, Daniel Butler for his services to GAA and Mungret St. Pauls at the recent Mayoral Reception that took place in the Limerick Council Chamber. This was followed by an acknowledgment to Pa’s efforts in the clubhouse by Chairman, Mike O’Connell in the presence of Pa’s family, club members and Mayor Daniel Butler who is no stranger to our club. Thank You Pa and Teresa for all your hard work and efforts you have both given the club throughout the years.
